Natural Heritage
Great Bowden Heritage Group’s first few years were spent mainly studying the natural world around us. We had small projects covering species in hedges, field names, a village wide wildlife survey in 2002 and a wild flower survey in Welham Lane in 2004.
During this period we also carried out a survey of farmers who currently farmed in Great Bowden parish and collected their views of changes over the past 50 years and then held our first exhibition on the subject in a traditional mud barn in 2002.

Community Involvement
Meanwhile we are offering support to the growing number of conservation and protective measures being undertaken by other groups locally.
